Episode 1 - What is the role of Design with Chris Rollings
For the last several months, Taryn (my cohost) and I have come together weekly to discuss Design and AI, its effects on the industry at large, ourselves, and individuals, how it's changing workflows and processes, and what it means to be a designer.
Last week, we launched our first podcast episode, “Designing for humans in the loop - What is the role of Design?”. It's been a fantastic and insightful journey so far, and we are looking forward to the next couple of planned episodes.

So, why a podcast, and why now? We had a few reasons why we wanted to do a podcast when we first spoke:
Designers felt like their roles and jobs would disappear in the near future and would be done by AI. That is far from the truth.
We wanted to learn from professionals working directly in this space, especially the designers working and exploring this new medium. We wanted to showcase their exciting work and chat about their journeys.
How do we build a community of curious-minded designers who want to explore and experiment in this space and be able to connect with and help them in their journey?
Our first episode features Chris Rollings, ex-Google product & innovation. Chris has been in and around data, ML, and analytics, with extensive knowledge and experience in the marketing space.
We spoke across a wide range of topics: the role of design and how designers can lean in and find a pathway in their careers. We were excited to have him on our podcast.

If you work in this space and believe you have something valuable to offer to designers in the broader community, please reach out. We'd love to chat with you.
